Drinking Water Source Protection chevron_left Back to Search Results

Description: Protecting the sources of our municipal drinking water is an important step toward ensuring that there is enough safe, clean drinking water for all.The Clean Water Act was passed by the Ontario legislature to protect municipal drinking water sources throughout Ontario. Drinking water source protection allows for the identification of risks to municipal water quality and water supplies, and the creation of a plan to reduce those risks. Plan development and updates involve municipalities, watershed residents, conservation authorities, farmers, landowners, businesses, industry and others. Conservation authorities co-ordinate the development of scientific knowledge about water issues, and facilitate the planning process.

When mailing - address to:
Lake Erie Source Protection Region
c/o Grand River Conservation Authority
(or visit website for specific Conservation Authorities).
